Mark Stephens CBE, 55, of Finers Stephens Innocent, is one of the UK's best-known lawyers and has often been called the patron solicitor of previously lost causes. He recently represented WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange in his fight against extradition to Sweden. The son of an artist, he is chair of the Contemporary Arts Society and also chair of governors of the University of East London. He is a regular fixture on television and radio discussing legal matters.
